AIApply is frequently recommended as an AI auto-apply tool for job seekers — it works 24/7, applies globally, and handles basic resume optimisation. But if you're a job seeker in India, it has a fundamental gap: AIApply does not cover Naukri, iimjobs, or Hirist — the three platforms where most Indian mid-senior roles actually get posted.

This guide compares AIApply with Scout by AgentCo — the only AI job search agent built for the Indian market — and explains when Scout is the better choice.

Why AIApply doesn't work well for India

AIApply is a genuinely capable auto-apply platform for the global market. But "global" in practice means US, Europe, and Australia — the boards Western hiring teams actually use. When you're searching for jobs in India, you need access to the boards Indian recruiters post on.

Naukri alone has over 70 million registered job seekers and is the primary sourcing channel for most Indian corporates across tech, product, finance, and operations. iimjobs is the go-to for mid-to-senior MBA and management roles. Hirist is widely used for senior tech positions. None of these are supported by AIApply.

If you use AIApply from India, you're applying only to the LinkedIn and Indeed portions of the market — a fraction of what's available. You're paying USD pricing for a tool that's missing the boards your next job is most likely to come from.

The second difference is privacy. AIApply is a cloud service — your resume, contact details, and application history go to their servers. Scout runs as a Claude Code plugin on your own computer. Your data never leaves your machine.

What Scout covers instead

Resume tailoring: basic vs. full rewrite

AIApply offers basic resume optimisation — it adjusts keywords and ordering to better match job descriptions. That improves your ATS score marginally.

Scout rewrites your resume bullet points to reflect the exact language, skills, and priorities in each job description. Every tailored resume is scored against the ATS before applying — Scout requires ATS ≥95 before submitting. If the tailored version doesn't hit that threshold, it runs up to 3 improvement cycles before giving up on that application. Your 8-section resume structure is always preserved — Scout never removes a section, role, or heading.

The difference is visible: a resume that says "led cross-functional teams" becomes "led 3-person product and data science team delivering ML-driven personalisation" when the JD asks for that specifically. That specificity is what gets past ATS filters and into recruiter inboxes.

Price comparison

AIApply is USD-priced, which means exchange rate risk on top of the subscription cost. For Indian job seekers, this translates to an unpredictable monthly bill in INR.

Scout costs ₹499/month — fixed INR pricing — or ₹4,499 as a one-time lifetime payment. The lifetime plan is a single purchase that covers all future updates.

If you've been laid off, Scout also offers a 50% discount (Lifetime: ₹2,249 · Monthly: ₹249) — email your retrenchment letter to hello@agentco.in.

When AIApply makes sense

AIApply is a reasonable choice if you are targeting exclusively international markets — US, Europe, or Australia — and have no need for Indian job boards. If you're open to international roles from India, Scout also covers UAE, Singapore, UK, Germany, and the Netherlands in every run (Group F), so you'd get both markets in one tool.

The main advantage AIApply has is a web-based interface with zero terminal setup. Scout requires Claude Code (a free CLI from Anthropic) and a one-time install command. If that setup step is a blocker for you, AIApply is easier to get started with — just expect to miss the Indian board coverage.

Other AIApply alternatives to consider

LoopCV

LoopCV is another cloud auto-apply platform, similar in scope to AIApply. It covers LinkedIn and Indeed well but skips Naukri, iimjobs, and Hirist. Costs €9.99/month (~₹900). Slightly cheaper than AIApply in INR terms, but the same Indian board gap applies.

LazyApply

LazyApply is a Chrome extension that auto-fills LinkedIn Easy Apply. Cheaper than AIApply but covers only 4 boards and requires your browser to stay open. Not suitable for overnight automation or Indian boards.
