Privacy Policy
If you use Scout Web: Scout runs server-side, on our servers. The profile details you enter (name, phone, LinkedIn, target roles, location, salary range) and the resume you upload are stored so Scout can score roles and tailor applications for you, and are deleted when you delete your account. Your resume text and the job description are sent to Anthropic to generate the tailored output. If you use the layoff discount, your termination letter is sent once to OpenAI for verification and is not stored by us.
If you use the Chrome extension: Scout is a pass-through — your resume text is sent to Anthropic (or your own API key's provider, if you use BYOK) to generate the tailored output and is never written to AgentCo's storage. If you turn on apply assist (an explicit opt-in, requested per site) on a Naukri or LinkedIn job application page, the extension reads the visible screening questions on that page — never the full page, never anything outside the application form you're looking at — and sends the question text (and its answer options, for a multiple-choice question) to our servers to find or generate an answer from your own saved profile facts. It fills the field for you to review; it never clicks Submit or Save on your behalf, on any site. See section 1 for what that request stores.
If you use the Claude Code, GitHub Copilot CLI or OpenAI Codex CLI plugin: Scout runs on your own computer. Your credentials and personal profile details are never sent to AgentCo's servers, on any plugin host. On Claude Code, resume tailoring also runs locally — your resume and cover letters stay on your machine throughout. On GitHub Copilot CLI and OpenAI Codex CLI, resume tailoring instead runs through AgentCo's servers (the same infrastructure Scout Web already uses) to keep tailoring quality consistent — only your resume text and the job description are sent for that step, and neither is stored. On every plugin host, run summaries and application statuses (which companies and roles Scout applied to, with match scores) sync to your AgentCo dashboard. The plugin ships with a TRANSPARENCY.md file documenting every request it makes.
1. What information we collect
We collect only the minimum necessary to operate the service:
- Email address — collected when you purchase a license or activate a gift key. Used to send your license key and service updates.
- Payment information — processed entirely by Razorpay. We do not store card numbers, bank details, or payment credentials. We receive a transaction ID and your email from Razorpay upon successful payment.
- License key and activation timestamp — stored in our database to validate your subscription and prevent unauthorised use.
- Signup IP address — collected once when you create an account, used solely for multi-account-abuse detection (spotting clusters of accounts created from one address to farm free previews). Not used for tracking or advertising.
- Profile details — Scout Web only — the name, phone number, LinkedIn URL, target job titles, location, and salary range you enter in your Scout Web profile, stored so Scout can score roles and tailor applications for you. Deleted when you delete your account.
- Resume file — Scout Web only — if you upload a resume on Scout Web, the file is stored in our storage (Supabase) so we can tailor it per job, and is deleted when you delete your account. The Chrome extension sends your resume text through for tailoring but never stores it (see section 3). The Claude Code plugin never uploads your resume at all (see section 3); on GitHub Copilot CLI and OpenAI Codex CLI it is sent for tailoring and not stored.
- Screening question answers — Scout Web and the Chrome extension — the answer bank you save on Scout Web (Settings → Screening answers), so recurring application questions (notice period, CTC, work authorization, and similar) are pre-filled instead of re-asked each time. The Chrome extension's apply-assist reads this same bank to answer a matching question on a Naukri or LinkedIn application page, and can add a newly-answered question to it. Deleted when you delete your account.
- Layoff or termination letter — layoff-discount applicants only — if you apply for the layoff discount, the document or pasted text you submit is sent once to OpenAI's API to verify eligibility (see section 4). It is not written to our database or storage — we retain only your email once verification succeeds, to send the discount link.
- Run summaries and application statuses — after each licensed or trial run, the plugin sends run statistics and a per-application record (company, role title, job URL, board, match score, and application status) plus the run's digest text to our servers. This powers your dashboard, run history, and service emails.
- Usage events — product analytics events (e.g. run started/completed) tied to your license, so we can operate and improve the service.
- Basic usage signals — Vercel Analytics collects anonymised page view data (no cookies, no personal identifiers). This cannot be linked to you individually.
2. What we do NOT collect (plugin surfaces)
On the Claude Code, GitHub Copilot CLI and OpenAI Codex CLI plugins:
- Your resume or CV file, tailored resumes, or cover letter documents — not stored on our servers on any plugin host (on GitHub Copilot CLI and OpenAI Codex CLI, resume text passes through briefly during tailoring but is not retained; see section 3). On Scout Web, your uploaded resume IS stored — see section 1. The Chrome extension sends your resume text through for tailoring but never stores it, same as the GitHub Copilot CLI and OpenAI Codex CLI plugins.
- Your name, phone number, LinkedIn, or salary information (entered only locally during /scout-setup)
- Job-board passwords or credentials — stored only in a local file on your machine
- Your Gmail contents or browser sessions
3. How Scout works on your machine
Scout runs on your own computer as a Claude Code, GitHub Copilot CLI or OpenAI Codex CLI plugin. Your profile data, credentials, and application history are stored locally in ~/Documents/scout-jobs/ on your machine; AgentCo has no access to those files. Scout uses your computer's internet connection to search job boards and submit applications — exactly as you would manually.
Resume tailoring differs by host. On Claude Code, tailoring also runs locally — your resume and tailored documents are generated and stay on your machine throughout, and are never sent to AgentCo's servers. On GitHub Copilot CLI and OpenAI Codex CLI, tailoring instead runs through AgentCo's servers so that output quality stays consistent across hosts; only your resume text and the job description are sent for that step, neither is stored, and the tailored result is written back to your machine.
After each run, a run summary and per-application statuses sync to your AgentCo dashboard (see section 1); the full request-by-request disclosure ships with the plugin as TRANSPARENCY.md.
4. Third-party services
- Razorpay — payment processing. Razorpay's Privacy Policy governs data they collect during checkout.
- Supabase — our database and storage provider, hosted in the EU/US. Stores license keys, activation records, dashboard session tokens, Scout run history (boards searched, jobs found, per-application records with company/role/status, and run digests), and waitlist signups. For Scout Web users, it also stores your profile details, your uploaded resume, and the tailored documents Scout generates for you (deleted when you delete your account). For plugin and Chrome extension users, resume files stay on your device or pass through without being stored (on GitHub Copilot CLI, OpenAI Codex CLI and the Chrome extension, resume text passes through briefly during tailoring but is not retained; see section 3). Your screening-question answer bank is also stored here, whether you added an entry on Scout Web or the Chrome extension's apply-assist saved one (see section 1).
- Anthropic — AI model provider (Claude). On the server-side tailoring paths (Scout Web, Chrome extension managed-key mode, GitHub Copilot CLI, OpenAI Codex CLI), your resume text and the job description are processed by Anthropic's API to generate the tailored output. When the Chrome extension's apply-assist can't answer a screening question from your saved answer bank, the question text and your profile facts (never the job page itself) are sent to Anthropic to draft an answer. Governed by Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
- OpenAI — AI model provider, used by AgentCo for one narrow task: if you apply for the layoff discount, the letter or text you submit is sent to OpenAI's API to verify it is a genuine layoff/termination letter. It is not stored by AgentCo — we do not write the document to our database or storage. Governed by OpenAI's Privacy Policy.
- The AI provider behind your own plugin host — the plugin runs inside a third-party agent you hold your own account with, and that agent talks to its own vendor under that account, not ours: Anthropic on Claude Code, GitHub/Microsoft on GitHub Copilot CLI, OpenAI on OpenAI Codex CLI. AgentCo is not a party to that traffic, holds none of those credentials, and never asks you for them. Your relationship with that vendor is governed by their terms, not ours.
- Mixpanel — product analytics. Receives usage events (e.g. run started, run completed, purchase confirmed) along with your email address and name, so we can operate and improve the service. It does not receive your resume, applications, or payment details.
- Vercel — hosting provider. Vercel Analytics collects anonymised, aggregate page performance data.
5. Data retention
We retain your email address and license record for as long as your subscription is active, and for up to 2 years after expiry for accounting purposes. You can request deletion at any time by emailing hello@agentco.in.
6. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. To exercise these rights, email hello@agentco.in. We will respond within 30 days.
7. Children
Scout is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Material changes will be communicated by email to active license holders. Continued use of Scout after such changes constitutes acceptance.
